Cazikode-Zé is a singer-songwriter, pianist and music producer from Coimbra, who blends influences from traditional and popular Portuguese music. In a new line-up, he is joined by Gil Calvinho, a guitarist and composer from Vila Real de Santo António, whose career is rock, jazz, blues and experimental music. The group is further enriched by Inês Sequeira, an orchestral violinist and physicist, who embellishes the songs with sweet melodies. A concert featuring songs that aim to bring a little comfort, hope and purpose to the days ahead – days that may feel stagnant, grey or directionless. A distinctly political tone, as one would expect from those creating art today, whether in the interpretation of love, the hyper-surveillance of social media to which we are subjected daily, or even in the simple act of reacting to the flawed nature of those who make themselves known through Earth and Speech.
